The Carrie Prejean Morality Tour just keeps getting better and better! Having played the victim card on The View and dared to call Larry King “inappropriate,” she’s returned to familiar territory: defending her stance on homo marriage. “People who say I hate gays and lesbians are, in a polite way, ignorant,” says a young woman who identifies Sarah Palin as her role model.

“I think they don’t see that just because someone doesn’t agree with redefining marriage that they hate you—I’ve never said that I hated gays. I have friends who are gay. I have hairdressers who are gay. I live in California—that’s the most liberal state there is. I am not afraid of gays. It’s just a personal opinion. They have an opinion; I have my own opinion.

Why is my opinion not valid?”

It is valid, Carrie. Just like your interpretation of Biblical Scripture, as told to Christianity Today: “No, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with getting breast implants as a Christian. I think it’s a personal decision. I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn’t get breast implants.” Well we did hear, in Proverbs 31:30, that “Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

It would appear that the National Organization Marriage’s spokesh0r isn’t too happy discussing “her lil solo sex tape”

Carrie Prejean threatened to walk off Larry King Live Tuesday night, in the middle of her interview with Larry King.

Prejean’s threats came after King asked the former beauty queen about the reasons behind her recent settlement with the Miss California USA pageant. King asked Prejean why she agreed to strike a deal with the Pageant and drop her claims of libel, slander and religious discrimination. “Why settle since you had a fight to carry on?” King pressed.

Prejean demurred. King asked again: “You can’t even say why you settled?”

Prejean, visibly displeased, refused to answer: “Larry, it’s completely confidential and you’re being inappropriate.” The inappropriate issue at hand isn’t King’s probing question, but the alleged reason why Prejean settled: TMZ reported that she decided to strike a deal only after the lawyer for the Pageant revealed a home-made sex tape of a 17-year-old Prejean. King: “So the agreement discusses the motive behind why each party agreed?” Prejean: “Larry you’re being inappropriate. You really are. So, I’m not going to talk about –” (This back and forth goes on for a full minute.) Finally, King concedes: “Okay, I, uh… inappropriate King Live continues.” He drops the subject and goes to a caller.

But the damage is done: before the person on the phone line is halfway through his introduction (“I’m a gay man and I love pageants”), Prejean reaches to disconnect her mic and mouths something to someone off camera. “Did she hear the question?” King wonders.

And I wonder why?! lol

(Salt Lake City) The Mormon church for the first time has announced its support of gay rights legislation, an endorsement that helped gain unanimous approval for Salt Lake city laws banning discrimination against gays in housing and employment.

The Utah-based church’s support ahead of Tuesday night’s vote came despite its steadfast opposition to gay marriage, reflected in the high-profile role it played last year in California’s Proposition 8 ballot measure that barred such unions.

“The church supports these ordinances because they are fair and reasonable and do not do violence to the institution of marriage,” Michael Otterson, the director of public affairs for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints said.

Passage made Salt Lake City the first Utah community to prohibit bias based on sexual orientation or gender identity. Under the two new ordinances, it is illegal to fire someone from their job or evict someone from their residence because they are lesbian, bisexual, gay or transgender.

Utah lawmakers tend to quickly fall in line when the influential church makes a rare foray into legislative politics. So Tuesday’s action could have broad reaching effects in this highly conservative state where more than 80 percent of lawmakers and the governor are church members.

“What happened here tonight I do believe is a historic event,” said Brandie Balken, director of the gay rights advocacy group Equality Utah. “I think it establishes that we can stand together on common ground that we don’t have to agree on everything, but there are lot of things that we can work on and be allies.”

But the church has pointed out an inherent dispute it has with the gay lifestyle. Mormonism considers traditional marriages central to God’s plan. Gays are welcome in church, but must remain celibate to retain church callings and full membership.

It’s strong support for Proposition 8 in California last year drew a sharp reaction from gay rights supporters nationwide, with many protesting outside temples that singled out Mormons as the key culprits in restricting the rights of gay couples.

Since then, however, Utah’s gay community has sought to engage church leaders in quiet conversations to help foster better understanding, said Valerie Larabee, executive director of the Utah Pride Center.

“I thought this conversation would never come to be while I was here in Salt Lake City,” said Larabee, adding that the discussions have “shifted her perspective of what’s possible” and could foreshadow a different relationship between the two sides.

But addressing the council on Tuesday, Otterson said the endorsement is not a shift in the church’s position on gay rights and stressed it “remains unequivocally committed to defending the bedrock foundation of marriage between a man and a woman.”

Church support for the ordinances is due in part to the way the legislation was drafted to protect those rights. Exceptions in the legislation allow churches to maintain, without penalty, religious principles and religion-based codes of conduct or rules.

“In drafting these ordinances, the city has granted common-sense rights that should be available to everyone, while safeguarding the crucial rights of religious organizations,” Otterson said Tuesday .

Previous Utah legislation that sought statewide protections for the gay community did not contain those exceptions.

And although this was the church’s first public endorsement of specific legislation, it is not the first time the church has voiced support for some gay rights. In August 2008 the church issued a statement saying it supports gay rights related to hospitalization, medical care, employment, housing or probate as long as they “do not infringe on the integrity of the traditional family or the constitutional rights of churches.”

Last year, church leaders were silent on a package of gay rights bills known as the Common Ground Initiative, dooming them from the start.

Today is a most glorious day, for it has been revealed that the conservative values preaching former Miss California Carrie Prejean has dropped her lawsuit against the Miss California USA organization because an graphic sex tape of her has allegedly surfaced. Hallelujah.

From TMZ.com:

“They showed her the X-Rated version of Home Alone, starring Carrie herself.

“When the video started playing, Carrie’s first reaction was ‘that’s disgusting’ and Carrie denied it was her.

“Then, the camera angle changed and panned up to her face. She was caught red-handed, so to speak.

“Carrie was rendered speechless and immediately began talking with her lawyer. We’re told it took about 15 seconds for Carrie to drop her $1 million demand.”

Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

It was bound to happen: Every idiot who wants to be famous knows a sex tape can help take a pseudo-celebrity’s D-list status up a couple of notches.

Groups like the National Organization for Marriage defended Prejean when scandalous photos surfaced. I wonder if Maggie Gallagher, president of NOM, and other conservative leaders will come to her rescue now. Family values indeed.

Would would Jesus say?

Gilbert Caldwell, a SkyWest baggage agent who married his partner last year in California in the window following the Supreme Court’s decision when it was legal, says SkyWest refuses to offer his husband the same free fares it offers heterosexual spouses, the Desert Sun reports:

“In a six-page letter to the airlines, attorney Tara L. Borelli, with Lambda Legal, contends her client, Gilbert Caldwell, and his spouse, the Rev. David Farrell, are enduring employment discrimination due to a SkyWest travel policy that refuses to extend its benefits to same-sex spouses ‘while heterosexual employees’ spouses are fully respected automatically.’ The Oct. 29 letter is the first step before formally suing SkyWest and Delta, Borelli said Friday.’ In this incident, they are refusing to treat Gilbert in the same way as they do married, heterosexual couples,’ added Borelli, a Lambda Legal staff attorney in Los Angeles. ‘They should be providing travel benefits on equal terms.’ … Officials with SkyWest and Delta Airlines did not return multiple phone messages on Thursday and Friday seeking comment. .This surprising and discriminatory policy not only sends a powerful message of stigma and devaluation to SkyWest’s gay and lesbian employees, but contravenes clear California legal mandates to treat same-sex spouses and registered domestic partners on equal terms with heterosexual spouses,. the letter states.”

The SF Chronicle reports: “The case is one of the first discrimination complaints to surface by any of the 18,000 same-sex couples who married in California before the November 2008 passage of Proposition 8, which amended the state Constitution to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman.”

SkyWest has not released a statement about the case. Lambda Legal says the letter to SkyWest is the final step before a lawsuit is filed.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Levi Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure — his bare body.

The 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin’s grandchild will pose nude for Playgirl, his attorney said Wednesday. To get ready for his close-up, Johnston is training three hours a day, six nights a week at an Anchorage gym with a local body builder.

A formal agreement hasn’t been reached with the online magazine, but the photo shoot is a “foregone conclusion,” said Johnston’s attorney, Rex Butler.

Johnston fathered a son with Bristol, the 18-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate who resigned as Alaska’s governor in July.

Publication of the photographs could be a source of embarrassment for Palin, often mentioned as a possible 2012 presidential candidate. Her memoir, “Going Rogue,” will be published next month and pre-sales already have made it a national best seller.

After Sen. John McCain chose Palin as his running mate, Johnston was thrust into the national spotlight early in the campaign after Palin abruptly announced her unwed daughter was pregnant and the couple would marry.

The couple broke up after the birth of their son, Tripp, in December. The relationship between the Palins and Johnston since then has often been strained, mostly over visitation issues.

Palin’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment on the Playgirl job.

Johnston also has been marketing himself for a possible modeling or acting career, spending time in New York and Los Angeles. His publicist, Tank Jones, said Johnston is fielding offers for other media jobs, including a reality show.

Johnston’s first TV commercial, hawking Wonderful brand pistachios, debuted this week.

In the short spot, Johnston walks toward the camera with Jones, an Anchorage private investigator who also is Johnston’s bodyguard. As they approach the camera, fan voices call out to Johnston off-screen. As he snaps open a pistachio, a voiceover declares, “Now Levi Johnston does it with protection” — a reference that Johnston has said in interviews that he and Bristol sometimes had unprotected sex.

No date has been set for the Playgirl photo shoot, but Butler expects the world will get a gander of the finished product by the end of the year.

Playgirl spokesman Vincent Stevens couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. Butler said Playgirl approached Johnston about posing in the buff.

“We told him he would have to do what actors and actresses do. They get in the gym,” Butler said. “He got in the gym.”

Johnston has been working out with Marvin Jones, a former Mr. Alaska competitor and the brother of Tank Jones. The trainer has put Johnston on a low-carb, high-protein diet.

After a month of rigorous workouts, Johnston is showing impressive results, Marvin Jones said. But Johnston had a head start as a former high school hockey player.

“It’s kind of scary, he has so much energy. He’s working out before we work out,” the trainer said. “When it’s time for him to bare all, I think he’ll be ready.”

If the low-key Johnston has any pre-exposure jitters, none of his handlers have noticed.

“Levi is a man of few words, but once you know him, you know he’s very confident,” Marvin Jones said.

It wouldn’t be the first show-it-all with political ties. Patti Davis, the daughter of former president Ronald Reagan, posed nude for Playboy magazine in 1994.
