The gorgeous people at HuffingtonPost today posted the below fabulous article about NOM, and how well, us gay folks have never been hunted down and murdered, unlike Jews, Christians, and Blacks. The subject matter is shocking enough, whats even surreal is myself and members of Freedom Fighters for Equality witnessed it all get posted, and even better, we have the actual screen shots!

James W Preece, Administrator for NOM, made the below startling and shocking claims: (read from the bottom up)

From HuffPost:

What’s up with the National Organization for Marriage (NOM)?

Not too many people are noticing this, but that organization, started to supposedly “protect marriage” from us so-called evil LGBTs, seems to be going off the deep end in terms of rhetoric.

When it began, NOM cleverly played up the “we are unfairly being called bigots because we simply want to protect marriage” meme. And that was because of the savvy of its founder, Maggie Gallagher.

But now with Gallagher handing the reins of the group to Brian Brown, the organization has abandoned all pretenses of martyrdom and is headed straight for crazy-talk territory.

This was evident when it joined forces in its “Summer for Marriage” tour with one Louis J. Marinelli III, a man who not only cites the discredited work of Paul Cameron, but is also very vocal in the belief that gays want to cause all sorts of mischief from molesting children to creating polygamous relationships.

And if that’s not bad enough, from an administrator of NOM’s Facebook page comes this little “gem:”

(Gays and lesbians) are not being repressed, discriminated against. There is no and never has ever been a homosexual man hunt for them. Jews, Christians, and Blacks were hunted down and murdered. Homosexuals have nothing in common with the three.

Now I could go into a history of the persecution of the LGBT community in places like Nazi Germany or talk about Sakia Gunn, Michael Sandy, or even Matthew Shepard (whose murder was not soley about a robbery no matter what the right says), or the countless number of LGBTs who have lost their lives due to hate but what’s the point?

Sometimes people say things so wildly inaccurate that any comment you want to make is unnecessary.

The statement by NOM is beyond the pale and it further proves what many LGBTs know about that group. NOM is not interested in defending marriage. It’s only interested in bashing LGBTs, but not by physical attacks.

NOM seeks to psychologically bash us.

First the organization tells us that we are not worthy of marriage; that we have no ability to love and raise children; that we are undeserving of anything except for what folks like them feel that they want to give us.

And now with that statement, NOM seeks to rewrite history in a way that eliminates our past struggles for equality in the same manner that the group is also trying to eliminate our potential future happiness.

I think a question by web site Box Turtle Bulletin about the statement on NOM’s facebook page says it all:

Are they completely delusional?

Sadly, I think the answer is yes.

But wait! There’s more!

The National Organization for Marriage has responded to the HuffPost article:

“The Huffington Post on Wednesday falsely attributed statements to the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) about discrimination faced by gays and lesbians. The statements were apparently posted by an unnamed “administrator” of the “Protect Marriage: 1 Man 1 Woman” Facebook account. Huffington Post falsely claims that this is NOM’s Facebook page. The Facebook account on which these statements were reportedly made is not NOM’s Facebook page and neither NOM nor anyone representing NOM made these statements. The Facebook account in question is operated by a private party and NOM does not control what is allowed to be posted on the account, a fact that could have been easily known to Huffington Post had they reached out to NOM to verify the report.

But NOM’s explanation is seriously misleading.

As this link courtesy of Box Turtle Bulletin and Goodasyou proves, the page “Protect Marriage: 1 Man 1 Woman” is associated with NOM. From its Twitter page, NOM is pushing the page as its own.

Furthermore,  Louis J. Marinelli – self identified “NOM strategist” is the general manager of the page.

And one more thing about Marinelli – he is not only participating in NOM’s “Summer for Marriage” Tour, but he is also (wait for it) driving the RV that NOM is using in the tour. We know this because he is so generously giving everyone updates on how the “tour” is going.

So the question here is who are you going to believe? The National Organization for Marriage or your own eyes?

Crowds assembled in the Plaza del Congreso in Buenos Aires waiting all night for a vote on marriage equality, and then…around 4AM…

I congratulate Argentina on its social progressiveness. Your national leadership had the courage to defy the Catholic church and the powerful influence of the Mormons. I have no doubt they will seek punishment and retribution in one way or another. I only wish America had such courageous leadership. But we don’t, and there is little if any hope of finding such a leader on the horizon.

The below was posted at PamsHouseBlend, I have talked about how we should stop funding the DNC in the past, but now..I’m just plan furious about the Dems, I mean where were they when it came to Maine or Washington State?

My advice is, fuck’em, this is a cilvil rights war, you are either with us or against us, and we don’t take hostages anymore.

Let’s just say that a little leaked email proves LGBTs are seen as the easy gAyTM to the DNC that can be manipulated, ignored, and pickpocketed as mob rule strips us of civil rights without a finger being lifted to help at the eleventh hour. It’s worse — stripping resources at the time of need. I won’t chronicle what John and Adam have detailed quite well, but if you had any reservations about the intentions versus the reality of how games are played with our community, this should clear it up.

I spoke with another DNC official today after my piece on the OFA’s fuckups/refusals to help, and that official told me “Some Mainers inadvertently got the email, but it was not sent to our Maine list.” I was also told that this was a “glitch”, and the quote above confirms that. Okay, one might think, a glitch is your system has a few people with the wrong zip codes in them, so they get a blast meant for someone else. Whoops. Fine. That’s not actually what happened. What happened, per Tobias’ e-mail, is the DNC did a large e-mail blast on this, and wanted to make sure Mainers didn’t get that e-mail, for fear that the gays might find out and ask, how come we didn’t get this kind of help?

It’s kind of like being forwarded a party invite the host doesn’t want you to come to, and when you show up, everyone gets silent and it’s a-w-k-w-a-r-d. The party, in this case, was electoral help, and OFA wanted to make sure people didn’t find out it was being grossly insensitive by not extending an invitation to the gays in Maine. Awesome.

I don’t know about you, but at the very least, it’s a peek at the kind the two-timing that goes on in national politics with constituencies they find “troublesome” or a perceived “liability” (save the $$$, of course). The difference is that the peek inside makes you realize how easily you’ve been had. In the case of LGBTs, it’s a screw job over and over. They don’t mind lying flat out, but catching them with their pants down usually hits a raw nerve.

[T]he DNC has concerns about getting involved in local ballot initiatives? Why? They did it last year under Howard Dean, when they donated $25,000 to the coalition fighting Prop 8’s repeal of gay marriage. President Jimmy Carter did it in 1978, when he came out against the Briggs Initiative, that would have banned gays and lesbians from being teachers in California. But regardless, why does the DNC (and the White House) have a problem getting involved when a core Democratic constituency is having its civil rights taken away by the far-right base of the Republican party? We were promised that this administration would be our fierce advocate. Now all we get are excuses.

Shut the gAyTM down; only give directly to candidates and organizations you believe are truly working in your best interest. Not a penny to the DNC; it’s the only leverage you have as an average citizen. The big donors in our community have to take a stand on this kind of nonsense, otherwise, they are enabling this kind of treatment of our community. It’s party-building at our expense each and every time, as we watch windows of opportunity close. The thought of a halt to the cash flow will stop this BS pronto, if only to make them listen for a goddamn minute before stepping on the gas to run over us again.

Good morning my dears!!!

And good morning Sandy Lee, I have to say yesterday Sandy, you became quite the star on here, but I can assure you it was not for good reasons, because lets face it, you do come across as a some bitter bitch who’s not seen any action in the while.

But enough about that whore, lets get on with business shall we?

About 5 mins ago I was checking out the sheep (NOM members), I do this because I am extremely worried about their mental well-being, I think they are completely fucking crazy.

Now heres a bit of background, we all know that NOM members think we get those 1200 federal rights when we enter into a gay marriage or civil unions,  but us educated people know that’s not possible because of that nasty law called DOMA, David Friedland suggests if gay people want those damn petty federal laws we should just marry someone of the opposite sex.

Wait, that MAKES SENSE! It’s THAT simple!

However, David…actually I don’t like that name much, lets call you Bambi…

Bambi, there are 2 issues I have with this, and I’m going to make an assumption that other people will too,

1) You want gay people to marry someone of the opposite sex just to get those 1200 + federal rights, not only is that just plain wrong and nasty, that is also…FRAUD!!!

Thats right y’all, not only does Bambi not want us getting married, he also wants us in jail!

2) Marrying someone you do NOT love, have no intention of spending the rest of your life with, never mind sleeping with, would be a fake marriage, which would do nothing to PROTECT the SANCTITY of Marriage which you are so passionate about.

So my fellow readers, here we have another example of how stupid NOM members really are, do I think I’ll find more throughout the course of the day…

You can bet your sodomizing ass I will!

Time published an article titled “What Happens If You’re on the Gay ‘Enemies List.’” It’s relatively accurate.

The last paragraph, however, includes the clichéd response from the Yes on 8 campaign about the boycott-the-bigots movement. And it’s a cliché that is ridiculous, and I’m completely fed up with it being printed in news reports without it being immediately discounted. Here it is:

Meanwhile, lists of donors to Proposition 8, once trumpeted on the Yes on 8 Web site, have been taken down to protect individuals from harassment. “It’s really awful,” says Frank Schubert, campaign manager for Yes on Proposition 8. “No matter what you think of Proposition 8, we ought to respect people’s right to participate in the political process. It strikes me as quite ironic that a group of people who demand tolerance and who claim to be for civil rights are so willing to be intolerant and trample on other people’s civil rights.”

Schubert is a liar and a bigot, and obviously, he’s a hypocrite. Let’s take this apart.

“It’s really awful.”

What is awful? That your supporters have to face ramifications for their political acts? That they spent money on a campaign that demonized and lied about gays and lesbians and now gays and lesbians are angry with them? That majority rule does not mean that the majority can force a minority to shut up? (That the majority rules doesn’t even exist, since we live in a constitutional republic, not a direct democracy?) What did you expect to happen when you stripped a minority group of their rights? That we would crawl back into our closets? Frank Schubert, you’re an idiot.

“No matter what you think of Proposition 8, we ought to respect people’s right to participate in the political process.”

We are respecting their rights. They have every right to give money to a hate group. And we have every right to publicize this fact, to ask people not to patronize their businesses, and to protest their actions in legal and peaceful ways. It is rich that Schubert would bringing up “respect” for “rights,” after his organization stripped the rights of people he clearly has no respect for. Frank Schubert, you’re an idiot.

“It strikes me as quite ironic that a group of people who demand tolerance and who claim to be for civil rights are so willing to be intolerant and trample on other people’s civil rights.”

Intolerant? Tolerance does not mean lying down in the street and being run over by trucks. Tolerance is live and let live. It is respect for the beliefs and private actions of others. I am tolerant of Mormons practicing in their church. I am tolerant of my relatives who believe that the Bible does not support my marriage to another man. But the moment that the group I am tolerant of tries to strip me of my rights, spreads lies about me on TV, the radio, and the Internet, and enters the public sphere and tries to make me a second-class citizen, tolerance is irrelevant…

Because I will not simply lay down in the street and have you walk all over me time and time again, I will stand the fuck up and literally tear apart.
