ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Levi Johnston is going for the ultimate exposure — his bare body.

The 19-year-old father of Sarah Palin’s grandchild will pose nude for Playgirl, his attorney said Wednesday. To get ready for his close-up, Johnston is training three hours a day, six nights a week at an Anchorage gym with a local body builder.

A formal agreement hasn’t been reached with the online magazine, but the photo shoot is a “foregone conclusion,” said Johnston’s attorney, Rex Butler.

Johnston fathered a son with Bristol, the 18-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate who resigned as Alaska’s governor in July.

Publication of the photographs could be a source of embarrassment for Palin, often mentioned as a possible 2012 presidential candidate. Her memoir, “Going Rogue,” will be published next month and pre-sales already have made it a national best seller.

After Sen. John McCain chose Palin as his running mate, Johnston was thrust into the national spotlight early in the campaign after Palin abruptly announced her unwed daughter was pregnant and the couple would marry.

The couple broke up after the birth of their son, Tripp, in December. The relationship between the Palins and Johnston since then has often been strained, mostly over visitation issues.

Palin’s representatives did not respond to a request for comment on the Playgirl job.

Johnston also has been marketing himself for a possible modeling or acting career, spending time in New York and Los Angeles. His publicist, Tank Jones, said Johnston is fielding offers for other media jobs, including a reality show.

Johnston’s first TV commercial, hawking Wonderful brand pistachios, debuted this week.

In the short spot, Johnston walks toward the camera with Jones, an Anchorage private investigator who also is Johnston’s bodyguard. As they approach the camera, fan voices call out to Johnston off-screen. As he snaps open a pistachio, a voiceover declares, “Now Levi Johnston does it with protection” — a reference that Johnston has said in interviews that he and Bristol sometimes had unprotected sex.

No date has been set for the Playgirl photo shoot, but Butler expects the world will get a gander of the finished product by the end of the year.

Playgirl spokesman Vincent Stevens couldn’t immediately be reached for comment. Butler said Playgirl approached Johnston about posing in the buff.

“We told him he would have to do what actors and actresses do. They get in the gym,” Butler said. “He got in the gym.”

Johnston has been working out with Marvin Jones, a former Mr. Alaska competitor and the brother of Tank Jones. The trainer has put Johnston on a low-carb, high-protein diet.

After a month of rigorous workouts, Johnston is showing impressive results, Marvin Jones said. But Johnston had a head start as a former high school hockey player.

“It’s kind of scary, he has so much energy. He’s working out before we work out,” the trainer said. “When it’s time for him to bare all, I think he’ll be ready.”

If the low-key Johnston has any pre-exposure jitters, none of his handlers have noticed.

“Levi is a man of few words, but once you know him, you know he’s very confident,” Marvin Jones said.

It wouldn’t be the first show-it-all with political ties. Patti Davis, the daughter of former president Ronald Reagan, posed nude for Playboy magazine in 1994.

For a party that is well, not as popular as it used to be, John Eichelberger is not exactly trying to help re-invent the GOP. Instead, he’s doing what alot of Republican politicians do, and try to push their own agenda onto people, no matter how crazy it may be.

Allowing gay couples to exist? Jesus, which century is this guy living in?

On Friday, Pennsylvania Senator John Eichelberger, who is sponsoring a bill to ban same-sex marriage in the state, held a radio debate with Senator Daylin Leach, who is sponsoring a bill to legalize same-sex marriage in the state. In the interview, Eichelberger said there’s no reason to allow gay couples to marry and said that they’re not being punished. In fact, he lauds the fact that gay couples are allowed to exist.

TRANSCRIPT

LEACH: How would he [Eichelberger] want to encourage stability in gay couples?

EICHELBERGER: I wouldn’t. I mean they can practice whatever sexual activity they like to practice, but there’s no reason to give them special consideration. We don’t give them special consideration in Pennsylvania for any reason. Why in the world would we allow them to marry?

LEACH: How would you encourage gay couples to be able to provide for their families?

EICHELBERGER: Well, I wouldn’t.

LEACH: What would you expect of them?

EICHELBERGER: There is no reason to encourage that type of behavior in Pennsylvania…That comes back to the definition of family and that’s where we differ. We can call all kinds of things families. I mean, we can say a 3 party marriage is a family, or 7 or 8 people or marrying younger and younger children these days .

HOST: Are you saying that by their very nature homosexual relationships are dysfunctional?

EICHELBERGER: [Pause] Um. I guess I would say that. I would say that.

LEACH: Should our only policy towards [same-sex] couples be one of punishment, to somehow prove that they’ve done something wrong?

EICHELBERGER: They’re not being punished. We’re allowing them to exist, and do what every American can do. We’re just not rewarding them with any special designation.

Rep. Virginia Foxx Called Matthew Shepard Hate Crime “A Hoax” (Bitch)

Published April 29, 2009 2:10 pm ET by Media Matters Action Network

On April 29, 2009, in a speech on the House floor, Rep. Virginia Foxx claimed that Matthew Shepard’s death was merely the result of a robbery gone bad. While his killers Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson did rob him, they also admitted that they were well aware of his sexual orientation and pretended they were gay to lure him away from the bar he was in at the time. The most striking feature of the case, of course, is that during the course of a normal, simple robbery, the victim is not generally beaten, tied to a post, and left for dead.

Matthew Shepard’s Death Was A Hate Crime, Not Simply A Robbery

Rep. Foxx: “The bill was named after a very unfortunate incident that happened, where a young man was killed, but we know that that young man was killed in the commitment of robbery. It wasn’t because he was gay. The bill was named for him, the hate crimes bill was named for him, but it’s, it’s really a hoax, that that continues to be used as an excuse for passing these bills.”[House Floor Speech, 4/29/09]

All the evidence clearly indicates that this was a vicious hate crime, not a robbery gone bad.

Shepard’s Killers Lured Him “Out Of A Bar By Saying They Were Gay.” According to the New York Times: “According to the local police and prosecutors, the two men lured Mr. Shepard out of a bar by saying they were gay. Then, the Laramie police say, the pair kidnapped Mr. Shepard, pistol-whipped him with a .357 Magnum, and left him tied to a ranch fence for 18 hours until a passing bicyclist spotted Mr. Shepard, who was unconscious.” [New York Times, 10/12/98]

The “Robbery” Myth Was Debunked During The Trial Of Matthew Shepard’s Killers. As reported by Slate a few weeks after the Shepard murder trial: “Speculation has persisted for the past year that Matthew Shepard, rather than being the victim of gay-bashing, might really have been nothing more than a hapless robbery victim who was exploited by gay activists to reap unwarranted sympathy and advance their own agenda to enact hate-crimes legislation. Statements made by one of the convicted killers, which were revealed for the first time Thursday, reveal these accounts to be false. [...] The most significant revelations emerged from the secret confession of Henderson, obtained just three days after his plea bargain. Henderson debunked the portrayal of Shepard that has gained currency the past few weeks. Had he testified in court as scheduled at McKinney’s trial, he would have blown apart the watered-down ’gay panic’ defense pursued to the end by McKinney’s legal team.” [Slate.com, 11/6/99, emphasis added]

Detective: “They Knew Damn Well He Was Gay.” The Slate article went on to report: “According to detectives who interviewed both of the convicted murderers, there is no evidence that Shepard made any sexual advances to the pair — and the detectives dismissed the idea that the murder was the mere result of a robbery gone bad. ’Far from that!’ scoffed Sgt. Rob DeBree, the chief investigator in the case. ’They knew damn well he was gay … It started out as a robbery and burglary, and I sincerely believe the other activity was because he was gay.’” [Slate.com, 11/6/99; emphasis added]

Rep. Foxx – does that sound like just a robbery to you?

What do you think about this? Is this another CLASSIC example of how backwards Republican Party is? Or is she simply gagging for some press?

I went to my first rally last night. Bill Clinton and Barack Obama were in Kissimmee, Florida and luckily they held the rally at 11pm or I wouldn’t have been able to go.

35,000 strong is how many people the Orlando Sentinel reports were there.

They came out like old pals. They laughed at each other’s jokes and whispered to each other like new lovers. I heard Obama’s speech was going to be the same – parts of it were, of course, but the rest really wasn’t.

We all remember how great and prosperous our country was under Bill Clinton – what a guy, what a President! It just so happens he needed his dick sucked a little too badly. Unfortunately, he gave the Republicans ammunition against him. He lied under oath.

As a side note, a funny comparison…have you noticed that Bush won’t speak under oath? He lies so much that the Republicans would fall over themselves having to try and defend him from impeachment – that’s why the fucker’s still in office.

We all know how great Clinton was for our economy with each family earning $7,000 more than they were before him. He had some great lines and he’s definitely a looker so that helps. But it was the relationships that struck me. Sure, I loved when Barack said, “Bush has dug us a hole and now he just wants to hand the shovel to McCain” because it’s a great visual and oh, so true, but it was nothing to the looks Barack and Billy gave each other.

I know, I know, Republicans hate Bill Clinton. But no one can deny that our country prospered under his executive leadership. He made this country a glowing example to the rest of the world and he was an economic genius – exactly the type of guy I want to see Barack palling around with, especially at a time like this. It was a gorgeous site:

The man is everywhere – as someone once said, he really is like Visa, everywhere you want to be. Last night, I count 3 places: 1) his infomercial

Doesn’t it look like he was already sitting in the oval office? There should be no question now about what this man would do as President.

2) the rally

(“Who makes less than $250,000 per year? We do!”)

3) the Daily Show with Jon Stewart

A man who surrounds himself with people like Bill Clinton, Warren Buffett and the always great Joe Biden is a man who wants to do great things and wants to get the right answers before jumping into something like the economic crisis head-first.

A man who surrounds himself with someone who called us a nation of whiners and said that we are in a mental recession is not the type of person I want working on our economy.

Bring us back to the days of prosperity and leadership in the world. It is time to heal and put someone in office who has the judgment to lead.

I may still be a little pumped from the rally so for the first and only time I will ever say it outright on here – OBAMA ’08!

State Rep. Sally Kern defended her position against what she called the “homosexual agenda” during a debate with opponent Ron Marlett in Bethany Thursday night.

The people of Oklahomo must be SO pissed off at this bitch, that state is going to need major PR!

Do we all remember State Rep. Sally Kern (aka the whore) and her thoughts on homosexuality.  Well here she is opening her mouth again and NOT using her brain as a filter.

“It’s a moral decay that’s going to destroy our nation from within,” she said.

Marlett said he entered the race because of Kern’s comments about gays.” Certain statements over the last few months have been less than kind,” he said. When asked about the biggest threat facing the United States, Marlett said it was dependence on foreign oil.

Kern said it was homosexuality. “While terrorism has killed more than 3,000 people, in the continental United States in the last 15 years, homosexual behavior has killed more than 100,000,” she said. “It’s a danger to life. It is a danger to health.” “To compare certain members of our community to a cancer that might need to be removed is chilling to me,” Marlett said.

“Our county is united pretty much against terrorism, but homosexuality is being promoted in schools and by the government,” said Kern. Kern said her views represent a majority of the voters in her district. Marlett said he doesn’t support gay marriage, just civil rights. “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal,” he said.”I promise to be a conservative, and I’ve kept my promise,” Kern said. At one point in the forum, a police officer escorted out an audience member who tried to interrupt and ask about Kern bringing guns to the Oklahoma State Capitol.

Who loves a liar? Television viewers, that’s who! Why should we want the truth when we can hear what we want to hear? McCain’s numbers were up when he was lying to us. Now that the lies have been debunked, his numbers are down. Maybe it’s because we’re mad at him for lying or maybe it’s because he wasn’t good enough at the game to make us believe the lies were the truth – after all, they are much more entertaining, aren’t they?

I’ve been appalled by Fox News in the past, but now it’s really getting ridiculous. I am amazed at how some people believe the blatant lies Fox News allows on air. A split decision in Pennsylvania? Ok, maybe Fox doesn’t lie…maybe they just see invisible leprechauns raising their hands. Who knows.

Gotta love the old lady in the background who ripped her husband’s hand down after the first question.

Unfortunately, visuals like this chart have ceased to surprise me.

As Scott McClellan has claimed, the Bush Administration has been feeding Fox its talking points. Considering Bush’s self-increase in executive power and his love of trying to control everything from habeus corpus (or lack thereof) to the 3-page bailout proposal vote, I’d tend to believe Mr. McClellan. Thankfully, people stop listening to the lunatic as his time in office winds down.

But people listen to Fox News. Who, after Scott’s claim, published an article stating the White House considered McClellan a disgruntled former employee. Wow! What a great way to prove that you are not in the pocket of George W. Spread the failed deflection to the drones who continue to believe the lies.

Then, of course, there is the debate ass-covering. Just in case Palin screws the pooch tonight, the excuse is ready to go! Gwen Ifill wrote a book called “The Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama”. Fox News has latched onto this in the past 48 hours as though this were new information.

Greta Van Sustern said this:
“I confirmed for us here on GretaWire: the McCain campaign did NOT know about Gwen Ifill’s book (I think I told them when I made my efforts — emails about midnight — to find out!) I am stunned … the campaign (actually both) should have been told before the campaign agreed to have her moderate. It simply is not fair — in law, this would create a mistrial [emphasis in original].”

What’s interesting is that The Associated Press reported the book as early as July 21st. This was before both campaigns agreed on August 21st that Ifill would be the VP debate moderator. Even The Washington Post also reported on the book on September 4th.

It’s interesting that I, as a lay person with a small amount of resources can find this information, but Ms. Sustern and the McCain campaign (whose resources outnumber even Ms. Ifill’s, I’m sure) did not even google Ifill’s name before midnight yesterday to do their own research or confirm the accuracy of their verbal diarrhea. Stunning.

Good ol’ Fox News. We can always count on them to shield us from unnecessary truths.

We all remember this gem:

And the tendency for Fox to latch onto rumors instead of researching facts for themselves leans toward the edge of ridiculousness

Then our good friend Bill O’Reilly, who enjoys the sound of his own voice more than anyone I’ve seen, has his own host of lying videos online. Here’s the shortest one I could find:

Even a 6 year old can imitate such a moron

Thankfully, not all Republicans are sheep or drinking the money kool-aid that the Bush administration has been virtually bribing them with over the past 8 years. These angry people (mostly Ron Paul supporters – gotta love them!) tell Sean Hannity exactly what they think:

It’s too bad Rupert Murdoch takes the easy way out. After all, it’s much less work to just make shit up or read off talking points from statements given to you by the one man you’ve promised to blow as long as he promotes you and keeps your rich ass on top. It’s really nothing more than the National Inquirer for television. And they might even be better. At least the Inquirer doesn’t pretend they aren’t full of shit. Fair and Balanced my ass.

Seriously, there is nothing better than reading about a good lawsuit before dinner. This just goes to show that John McCain will do ANYTHING to win.

The Obama campaign and Democratic National Committee filed a lawsuit in federal court today, alleging that the Michigan Republican Party is engaging an illegal effort to disenfranchise voters.

Speaking to reporters on a conference call, Obama general counsel Bob Bauer said they filed the injunction after evidence surfaced that the Michigan GOP planned to use home foreclosure lists to keep voters still using the address of their foreclosed home from voting. Such voters could be challenged at voting precincts and forced to answer questions or risk being denied voting rights.

Bauer referred to the practice as “caging,” which he said had been “standard operating procedure” in the GOP for the last three decades. “It is an absolute attack on the right to vote,” Bauer said. “The challenge activity that the Republicans would engage in using these foreclosure lists would have a deadly effect on the voting process.” One in 285 homes in Macomb County are in foreclosure, Bauer said.

One piece of evidence the plaintiffs will cite is an article published by Michigan Messenger, a reportedly left-leaning, political news website, which interviewed Macomb County GOP chairman James Carabelli and quoted him saying: “We will have a list of foreclosed homes and will make sure people aren’t voting from those addresses.”

In an interview with the Detroit News the day after that quote was published, Carabelli denied the accuracy of the quote. “I never said anything even close to that,” he told the newspaper. “We won’t be doing voter challenges on foreclosures, and we’ve never had a plan to do it.”

“They can tell it to the judge,” Bauer said, when asked about Republican denials of the charge. Michigan Messenger has also refused to retract the story.
