California is already withholding tax return money and other dollars as I reported the other day. My home state of Wisconsin has its biggest budget deficit ever. Maybe we will get split up like Africa did, and we’ll have individual countries instead of states. It sure as hell would get rid of a lot of slime in Washington D.C.!!

46 Of 50 States Could File Bankruptcy In 2009-2010
January 29, 2009
There is a high chance a majority of the States within the United States of America could file for Chapter 9 bankruptcy. There are currently 46 states with high budget deficits, Arizona being one of them.

In fact, Jan Brewer, the newly appointed Governor of Arizona has a major crisis on her hands, one that Arizona and national media isn’t covering. The alarming news is the State of Arizona has 90 to 120 days before they completely run out of money. After that, all bills and tax refunds owed to the citizens will go unpaid.
Before Janet Napolitano left for her new Homeland secretary position, she had a stand-off with Arizona Treasurer Dean Martin. The AZ Treasurer forewarned Napolitano about Arizona’s financial crisis, but she refused to heed his words.
With neighboring California on the verge of bankruptcy this year, many States will follow in their steps.
Many States are already scurrying to cut unwanted costs, cut State-funded programs, raise taxes, not issue tax refunds to their citizens, and borrow money just to survive in 2009. Unfortunately, many banks — the same banks the Fed bailed out — are refusing to loan money to the States and their Treasury agencies.
The article, State Budget Troubles Worsen, at the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities website is an excellent piece to read. It shows where each State currently stands in these challening economic times, and you see 46 of the 50 States are clearly in the financial red.
It’s very possible you’ll see the end of the United States as we know it. If the Fed doesn’t bailout the States when their cash dries up and the banks don’t loan them money, then our States will be left in financial ruin. This would be a tragic and unprecedented event never experienced in the United States.
No State has ever filed bankruptcy, but it could be coming to a State near you this year.
We are on the brink of something far worse than the Great Depression.

Scary, scary sh..tuff indeed. But you know it’s what the left has intended all along, don’t you?

Left, right. I know that both parties are corrupt as can be.
That’s why I don’t label myself a Democrat or Republican!
So, cmblake6. You’re calling this a conspiracy plotted by the Democrats many years ago? Did you forget that Bush ruined our economy and tied us down in a unnecessary war in Iraq?
Maybe you should quit listening to fat ass Rush Limbough for a minute and join the real world!
Jell-O, I consider myself a “hard right libertarian” and a Patriot. This bullshit has been building since the ’30s. Bush didn’t ruin the economy, it was cruising along quite well until a certain communist started looking good in the polls, and then got elected. LOW unemployment, and finances not doing too bad even WITH the war going on. All businesses operate on future expectations of sales and profits. That’s why the economy suddenly took a dump.
Never mind. You obviously suffer from BDS, even still. Just look back, month by month, and observe the records. The problems are the unions, and the welfare state. Socialism does not work, and the country has progressed toward it for many many years. The only time we’ve done particularly well is when the free market economy has had its head.
Illegal aliens don’t help either. Especially when they get free tuition and amnesty for the invasion.
You are right about one thing though. NONE of the POTUSs since Reagan have been particularly all there, and even HE had a hiccup or few. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. When the young Republicans took the helm in 94 they did very well. For a few years. Then they started slipping into the DC crowd thing. You paid no attention to the single digit approval rating of the Dems since ’06, did you? It won’t matter to you whether we cease to become a sovereign nation I’d wager. And I haven’t listened to Rush for years, but I am a veteran who’s risked my ass around the world so you can prattle. Be glad we still ARE a sovereign nation, with a First Amendment right to free speech. Try to imagine what its like in places that don’t have that. Like Iraq didn’t. Dungeons, torture, being executed in the street by the government, being fed to a giant meat grinder by your own glorious leader”. Yeah, it’s really horrible here, huh.
Oh, speaking of said “unnecessary war”, did you hear about the elections just held in the Sunni area? No? Not on CNN? Of course not. No suicide bombs, no VBIEDs, none of that. Went like clockwork. Which is why the MSM didn’t say a whole lot about it, if anything.
The excess spending of the 1990′s certainly led to part of the economic collapse on the consumer’s end. Borrowing and more borrowing has led to the mess that we are in. However, banks, mortgage companies, our own wasteful government spending have all led to the meltdown we are currently in. Maybe it slipped your unopened mind, but George W. Bush racked up more of a U.S. deficit than all the past Presidents combined! The guy was a joke, and will always be remembered for his idiocy and getting us into an Iraqi war for greed and oil interests. Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld made millions of dollars off of Middle East investments including Iraq. Do you think Blackwater was hired, because they were the best company for the job? I don’t think so. Cheney and Rumsfeld were behind that mess.
By the way, thousands if not tens of thousands of people were jailed here in the U.S. for speaking the truth in proper manner. Houses and apartments were unnecessarily raided due to one comment a person made that was unfavorable to the Bush Administration. This sounds more like a dictatorial society than anything else.
I will agree with you on the comment about our Socialist society. The more the govt. intervenes, the closer we are to becoming another France.
While I agree with your point, your numbers are wrong. As a resident of the state of Arkansas I can say we are not having budget problems at this time. It is kind of surprising as most of our elected officials are Democrats, but they tend to be moderates. I think if this were actually researched, you would find the true blue states like New York & California are those having money problems, which their elected representatives are in the process of forcing the rest of America to pay for.
I did not make the numbers up. You’ll have to go to the original author to debate with him/her as to how they arrived at their figures. Most states, even Republican ones, are hurting badly right now. I wish the damn Republicans and Democrats would quit their bickering and look out for the rest of America instead of their own best interests!
“I wish the damn Republicans and Democrats would quit their bickering and look out for the rest of America instead of their own best interests!”
Now THAT is the most spot on thing anyone has said yet.
The big picture to me is not any of this talk of Republican and Democrat, which philosophy is better. The problem is that the financial collapse is all being done on purpose in order to dissolve the United States. Another enormous con from the best con artists in the world, our own U.S. Officials. Where being dissolved by these con lords to create the N. American Union, combining us with Canada and Mexico. There dissolving our dollor to create a new currency the Amero. It’s all high finance stuff that will take away the individual freedoms and soverignty of this nation. Our politician don’t give a damn because there sold out souls have there safe havens, a country means nothing to many of them, they only serve there client’s, I mean major campaign contributers. So, let’s try to keep the peace between our ideologies because that’s not the problem in the melting pot of ideas, our democracy. It’s politician on both side of the fence, selling us out to financial institutions and the deals almost closed. Good luck to us all.
By the way for those that don’t know California isn’t that blue or liberal for that matter. Keep in mind the unfortunate election of Arnold Schwarzenegger which has not been a good thing for the California budgetr at all. Davis was actually working on preventing these budget prediction’s through some responsible tax increases. Like the car tax, this was used to take him down.
I hate to say it but I think the American people need to get there priorities straight. We vote for idiots and a-holes that are brought to us by the corporate a-holes. We bring them to power with our precious votes and while they take our power away. They pit us against one another, citizen against citizen, they divide us they don’t unite us. They know that divided we’ll fall – fall for just about anything.
